Fried Caplinger Sanwich was very tasty, not super fishy, nice and flaky. Buffalo chips (just circle french fry chips) and baked beans were delicious. We ate outside in the outdoor seating area which was a nice set up of picnic tables under a decorated canopy. Great prices for the amount and quality!
This location features a plethora of seafood and other delights including all the fixings to make at home. We ate in the restaurant which was very casual dining and were served by an incredibly efficient, friendly and professional staff who clearly knew what they were doing. I highly recommend this restaurant as an outstanding example of a seafood restaurant away from the beach. They were generous with their portions and I just loved my half and half fried shrimp grilled shrimp Bay seasoned entree. Larry was particularly attentive and the other staff members were friendly and warm. Outstanding flavors, outstanding selection, and very good pricing; go to Caplinger's and forget the rest.
Whew.. where to start... Great place.. I'm kinda picky when it comes to potato salad.. and Mac and cheese... Damm both were amazing.. not to mention the grouper was delicious! The staff... Also amazing... Friendly... Prices wasn't bad considering it's GOOD seafood! I'll definitely return.. oh forgot to mention.. the clam chowder was excellent as well!
We recently stopped in at Caplinger's (Greenwood, IN) and we were EXTREMELY pleased with our dinner. We shared a meal of fried perch, hush puppies, fried okra, along with some red beans & rice. YUMMM-Oh-YUM!! Everything was cooked to perfection!! Serving size was enough to bring a little home for lunch the next day. As we were leaving, we spotted a refrigerated case that contained freshly made tuna salad and many other options. We brought home a container of the tuna salad and oh my goodness . . . . our taste buds were dancing with DELIGHT. We will DEFINITELY RETURN, as everything we had from Caplinger's was SUPERB!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This is the freshest seafood at the best price on the south side of Indy. They have fresh seafood market with everything from fresh seafood to oysters salmon walleye cod fillets are amazing delicious. And they have the absolute best hush puppies, they also have key lime pie. Dinners are awesome and they have fresh fish sandwiches too.
Good good good food! Had the fried Gator YUM! The greens were flavored well, potato salad was smooth! I bit my husbands Philly seafood sandwhich... Seafood is not my favorite so this was a WOW for me! It was so tasty!
The Caplinger's fish sandwich is good. The service, the fresh cook was great also. The seafood counter has so many types to choose. And remember they will cook it for you for a small fee. Yummy!
Tim is so enthusiastic and passionate about the product that is sold at Caplinger's. The dinners my wife and I experienced were excellent. Caplinger's Special which included Basa. I enjoyed the Grouper dinner. Hush puppies were excellent, the buffalo fries were crisp with a soft middle. My wife loves the colored greens and I chose the red beans and rice. Everything was very tasty. We will be back again!
